Does it need a picture to be an exciting blog?

So i've been back from uni a week now and so far liking being back home. However i am having withdrawel issues i need to get used to. these being;

1) I can't nap at anytime of the day, in the Hampel house this is not accepted.

2) I can't make a mess and leave it,

3) A bar and vending machines are not walking distances.

4) Pasta is knowlonger my stable diet, suitable for morning, afternoon and evening

5) the buses are not £2.00 whereever you go

6) my friends are not the other side of the wall

7) It is not appropriate to wear the same jumper and jeans 5 days running.

8) Big Brother is not accepted

9) A job means more than two hours a day twice a week.

However last week was productive with simon being here we had;

1) 3 costa's,

2) 1 lunch out,

3) Subway sandwiches

4) Painted a joint picture (simon painted more of the white table)

5) Front garden weeded and flowers planted (my fathers day present to my dad!)

6) Got a job

And so today was the first day of my working summer, yes today i started at JJB sport and it was a very useful day. Today I filled out forms, a lot of forms. Had a quiz. Roleplayed. Watched videos on sport equipment. Had a tour. Was Presented with our uniforms. A very very very useful day. However after watching videos on types of golf sticks, footballers gloves and strings of tennis rackets, im still not really sure what i have to do the 8 hours im there. oh well keeping me in suspence i guess...

So my friends i leave you with a picture, a picture im very proud of and leaves me saying 'Isn't great to be a JJB worker?'

Ok can not find the camera wire, so no picture, if your lucky it may be in the next post, if i find it

Two embarrassing moments i feel i should share with you;

  • In a lecture today we were told to think of a book that has been an inspiration to you, something that was maybe life changing, a book that made you who you are today. Being a theology class you got the usual, a few bibles maybe a couple of torahs, a qu'ran , my answer.... The Very Hungry Caterpillar, i had good reason for this but i still felt a bit silly!

  • I was running to my lectures as i was late and didnt have time to tie my shoes,I tripped a little, recovered from that, still didnt do the shoes up, kept running and then fell big styley, like head whacking on the ground, proper fall, the people in the bar were very supportive (if you count smacking on the window and laughing supportive) I got up and kept running, i just hope no one i knew saw me.....

karma

Last Thursday, Simon and I traveled up to Scotland to visit my uncle and auntie. Now in the past I’ve always got the plane which takes about an hour but this time me and Simon decided to go on the megabus, which takes around 9 hours, because it was a lot cheaper. Now we arrive at Victoria train station and walk to the coach station. Stayed there for a bit then realized we were at the wrong coach station, so kept walking.

Reached our coach station at about 10.30pm, our coach was due to leave at 11.00. 10.45 i decide i need the toilet, no toilet at our coach station, have to walk back to other coach station.

Now anyone who knows Simon, knows he hates being out at night, so this was not good for him. So being the supportive girlfriend ,i laughed at his fear and walked slightly slower.

11.00pm get on the coach, will not mention the queuing system they have in place because i will be here for ever, Simon puts luggage on and i find seats, sorted!

Two hours later stop at a service station told we are switching buses, so i run off the coach to get seats, simon gets the luggage. This time it was a double decker so i run to get the front seats at the top, sit down but bags under the chair, sorted again.

Look behind, there was a man standing in the row, not moving, I look down at the floor and there was a pidgeon....

Now i only have two greatest fears in life, its not dying alone or being tortured its … fish and pidgeons.

Now i was in a dilema, i couldnt run for it as the pidgeon was in the aisle and I couldnt go over the chairs just in case it got scared and flew. I was trapped, cornered by a pidgeon.

So i sat there, screaming at anyone who walked close incase they scared it and it flew around my head.

We then have a situation, how do you get a pidgeon of a double decker bus? by this time it was about 1am.

A man, who spoke no English tries to pick it up, it flies away, luckly not in my direction down the other end of the bus, I was now in tears.

The pidgeon is now lost so everyone is looking under their chairs trying to find it, i still have not moved.

Its found, same guy goes to pick it up, it flies again, crazy French women gets out a tennis racket and starts trying to hit it, (not very safe and sound for pidgeons) Did not succeed in killing the bird.

Finally its taken out of the bus and we continue our journey, for the rest of our journey i did not put my feet down, just in case it had returned.

Simon then brings up the point of karma. I laughed at his fear of being out at night and then got a taste of my own medicine with the pidgeon. Does what comes around goes around?? I then felt bad about laughing at Si’s fear.

I'm not sure if i believe in karma or whether it was just a coincide, but i will not be laughing at peoples fears for a long time and will also check all chairs before I sit down .....

All i want is a room somewhere...

Its not often i get fed up but i have to say im very fed up!i no catchy first sentence to a blog!
its amazing to think i have almost completed my first year at Roehampton, it has just gone so fast and we now have the lovely task of trying to find a house. I'm planning to move in with two other girls and we all are finding the whole situation very difficult. The way Roehampton do it is they release a housing list and then the rest is up to you. Its now the second day of house hunting, we have seen 6 places and have three left to see tomorrow and so far none have been suitable. All have been a good twenty minutes walk and either too expensive or not being in a very nice area. Its not like we are being picking, one house we went to was above a shop, front door lock broken, chipping paint, patches of carpet ripped, how they can expect people to buy this? In contrast was a massive house, kitchen, dining room, lounge, garden and three bedrooms but a long way and slightly out of our price rage. So tomorrow heres hoping we will find a house in the middle of the two extremes as by Thursday everything will be gone and ill have to commute!

NB If you live near Roehampton and are willing to take three lovely girls please let me know... don't be a weirdo

Feed the World, Damn was that last year??

Today has been a good day! Today me and Simon went to Chessington World of Adventures. The weather was lovely, the park was empty and the company was perfect, a good way to spend a Wednesday! For your pleasure i have posted a few snaps from the day and the whole album will be on facebook in due course.
However i did have a shock today whilst approaching a ride, the ride was called 'Rameses Revenge' , you kinda sit in a row of chairs and are thrown in many different directions and then they lower you into fountains of water face first. Now usually, back in the days, i would have loved this ride but today i found myself saying 'Ah no you go on, ill stay here with the bags and take some snaps on the old camera'. Now i know theres always one person in the group when you go to a theme park that enjoys sitting with the bags and watching the ride, but i never thought this person was gonna be me. So i have put this mishap to one side and have assured myself that it will never happen again, i am young, young and hip and down with the kids,i'm going on the skateboard!
Also do you ever get one of those texts where they start with 'Congratulations' and you are sure its junk and delete it. Well today i received what i thought to be one of those texts and instead of deleting it i read it. Turns out that my application for 'Live Earth' was succesful so on the 7th July me and Simon will be at Wembly in the company of :
Beastie Boys
Black Eyed Peas
Bloc Party
Corinne Bailey Rae
Damien Rice
David Gray
Duran Duran
Foo Fighters
Genesis
James Blunt
John Legend
Keane
Madonna
Paolo Nutini
Razorlight
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Snow Patrol

and more to be added, we are very excited!
