Two embarrassing moments i feel i should share with you;

  • In a lecture today we were told to think of a book that has been an inspiration to you, something that was maybe life changing, a book that made you who you are today. Being a theology class you got the usual, a few bibles maybe a couple of torahs, a qu'ran , my answer.... The Very Hungry Caterpillar, i had good reason for this but i still felt a bit silly!

  • I was running to my lectures as i was late and didnt have time to tie my shoes,I tripped a little, recovered from that, still didnt do the shoes up, kept running and then fell big styley, like head whacking on the ground, proper fall, the people in the bar were very supportive (if you count smacking on the window and laughing supportive) I got up and kept running, i just hope no one i knew saw me.....

karma

Last Thursday, Simon and I traveled up to Scotland to visit my uncle and auntie. Now in the past I’ve always got the plane which takes about an hour but this time me and Simon decided to go on the megabus, which takes around 9 hours, because it was a lot cheaper. Now we arrive at Victoria train station and walk to the coach station. Stayed there for a bit then realized we were at the wrong coach station, so kept walking.

Reached our coach station at about 10.30pm, our coach was due to leave at 11.00. 10.45 i decide i need the toilet, no toilet at our coach station, have to walk back to other coach station.

Now anyone who knows Simon, knows he hates being out at night, so this was not good for him. So being the supportive girlfriend ,i laughed at his fear and walked slightly slower.

11.00pm get on the coach, will not mention the queuing system they have in place because i will be here for ever, Simon puts luggage on and i find seats, sorted!

Two hours later stop at a service station told we are switching buses, so i run off the coach to get seats, simon gets the luggage. This time it was a double decker so i run to get the front seats at the top, sit down but bags under the chair, sorted again.

Look behind, there was a man standing in the row, not moving, I look down at the floor and there was a pidgeon....

Now i only have two greatest fears in life, its not dying alone or being tortured its … fish and pidgeons.

Now i was in a dilema, i couldnt run for it as the pidgeon was in the aisle and I couldnt go over the chairs just in case it got scared and flew. I was trapped, cornered by a pidgeon.

So i sat there, screaming at anyone who walked close incase they scared it and it flew around my head.

We then have a situation, how do you get a pidgeon of a double decker bus? by this time it was about 1am.

A man, who spoke no English tries to pick it up, it flies away, luckly not in my direction down the other end of the bus, I was now in tears.

The pidgeon is now lost so everyone is looking under their chairs trying to find it, i still have not moved.

Its found, same guy goes to pick it up, it flies again, crazy French women gets out a tennis racket and starts trying to hit it, (not very safe and sound for pidgeons) Did not succeed in killing the bird.

Finally its taken out of the bus and we continue our journey, for the rest of our journey i did not put my feet down, just in case it had returned.

Simon then brings up the point of karma. I laughed at his fear of being out at night and then got a taste of my own medicine with the pidgeon. Does what comes around goes around?? I then felt bad about laughing at Si’s fear.

I'm not sure if i believe in karma or whether it was just a coincide, but i will not be laughing at peoples fears for a long time and will also check all chairs before I sit down .....
